Our Story
Andrew Levitt founded HealthTalker, a Boston-based company, in February 2007 as a solo operation. Since then, it has evolved into a full-service agency, providing complete program support – from strategic development to customized creative to program implementation and analysis – with a full-time staff.
Having worked in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry for 13 years, Levitt was aware of the challenges companies face in influencing consumer behavior with their current mix of DTC programming. He recognized that there was need for a solution that would tap into the power of consumer conversations, especially given the ever-growing challenge of capturing patient attention and trust through traditional media channels.
Since peer-to-peer interactions remain a valuable source of information and referral, he decided to leverage his passion for entrepreneurship to create HealthTalker with the goal of making it the industry standard for WOM.
HealthTalker is currently working with several pharmaceutical companies, including Merck, Genzyme, Serono, Shire and Novartis.
HealthTalker has been featured in Medical Marketing & Media and in Pharmaceutical Executive. HealthTalker was also featured at the Health 2.0 conference in San Francisco, and at the eMarketing USA conference in Boston, both in October 2008.

In an interview with DTC Perspectives in March 2008, Seth Godin said “It starts with the mindset of DTC - and that’s not going to work. What works is CTC - consumer-to-consumer: igniting relationships and conversations so that people talk about you. That’s a fundamentally different thing.”
